Q: Are new products added to the database regularly?
A: Yes, new products are added on a weekly basis.
Q: Why is an additive in the ingredients list marked as red?
A: An additive is marked as red if: A. It is reported to have side effects B. Questionable or controversial C. Banned in any country D. Banned by any credible organization.
Q: Do you have information on additives for the products in your site and how do I get more information on a specific additive?
A: Yes, nutrition label displayed for each product has ingredients information. In case, you do not see list of ingredients for any product, it means the information is not available on the manufacturer website. If an ingredient is a suspect(questionable) additive, it has a hyperlink and a tool-tip with a brief description of the additive. You may click on the link to get more information on the additive.
Q: I see Red and Green light symbols on the products, what does these lights indicate?
A: Any product having a 20% or more of Daily Value for Fat, Saturated fat, Sodium or Cholesterol has a Red light indicator. Or if a product has Trans fat present or if the Sugar content is more than 32 gms, it has a red light indicator. And products having a 20% or more of Daily Value for Fiber, Proteins, Vitamins or Minerals are marked with Green light.
Q: On Nutrition Facts Label, some of the nutrients are marked in Red or Green color, why?
A: Nutrients marked in Red are un-healthy that have to be reduced or avoided in regular food intakes. And nutrients marked in Green are good for health.
Q: On iPhone app I see "What is Good and Bad" section on product detail page, what is it?
A: Good and Bad section on Product Detail page gives you more information of what is healthy and unhealthy for you based on the Red and Green highlighted nutrients on the Nutrition Facts label of the product.
Q: Why is there a check mark next to some products in my search results?
A: This check mark indicates that the product matches with the Profile settings that are selected by the user.
Q: How do I know if a product has any Allergens?
A: Once you find the product of your choice in the search results, just click on the product name to see the Product Detail page, where allergens present in the product are listed.
Q: Do you provide the nearest store, pricing and coupons for products on your website?
A: Nearest stores information with pricing and coupons for a product will be available in the next release 2.0
Q: Can I purchase a product listed on your website?
A: Yes, you may click on Purchase Online link on the product detail page to navigate directly to the manufacturer's online store or another third party online store.
Q: I want to report a problem with your data, what should I do?
A: Using the feedback form on the home page, let us know the problem. We will work with product management team to correct the issue. Or you may send an email to support@caloricious.com
Q: How do I know if a product is Organic or not?
A: All organic products on our site have a "USDA Organic" logo next to the product in the product listing page or on the product detail page.
Q: How do I know if a product is 100% Natural or not?
A: All organic products on our site have a "100% Natural" logo next to the product in the product listing page or on the product detail page.
Q: We are a food company and would like to submit our products to your site.
